Living a healthy lifestyle and losing weight is not an easy endeavor when you think of all the good , cheap, and accessible food that we have at our fingertips in America. So many bad choices that we have grown accustomed too. Yes we must avoid these tempting but unhealthy options as much as possible. But let me propose something very powerful. A good offense can be just as good as a good defense. Use good foods and practices to block the bad foods and choices . ACTION POINT AND GOAL: Instead of only saying. I am going to avoid junk food. Make a goal to eat one or two salads a day. So many fruit a day. And so many glasses of water a day. So and an so forth. You can also do this with your exercise. So you are focusing on what you can do and what you should do instead of what you can ‘t do. When we focus on what we can ‘t do sometimes it becomes more attractive to us. This is seen in Adam and Eve in the Garden. After God told them that that they could eat of all the trees in the garden except one of the Trees. The tree of knowledge of good and evil. I bet you they were focused on all the other great trees that they could eat of and not the only tree that they couldn’t. But then the serpent Lucifer yes Satan came and reminded them of that ONE tree that they were forbidden to eat from. And made it seem so irresistible.

So when you go to bed at night or go shopping. Put a vision of that nice juicy salad that you are going to eat. The nice tall glass of water. The fresh and juicy orange that you are going to partake off. Don ‘t think so much on avoiding bad foods. Position yourself and envision yourself eating good foods and drinks. This is the power of positive thinking. Using your focus. Hard wiring your brain to be in line with your agenda. And charging hard into the next day. Setting up a mental beachhead and preemptive strike on the temptation that is sure to come at any time.

Hunger and Thirst after good Healthy Foods

 

One very central thing that I have learned in my health journey. Is that the more good stuff you eat. The less you will want the bad stuff. So by faith if you eat a salad , eat some fruit, or drink some water. Don’t just say yuck I am having a salad today. But tell yourself that you are going to enjoy it. Be creative with your food and hunt it down. Make it an adventure. Seek your great food choices out like a hunter. You will crave and want less sodas, fast food burgers, or chocolate cake. Because your body has what it needs and really wants. So it craves bad things that are only cheap substitutes for what it really wants. This is a spiritual principle that we can use in order to be healthier long term. Helping us to understand what is going on in our minds in order to win our daily battles. The light pushing out the darkness!!!



Psalms 107 : 4  Some wandered in the wilderness,
lost and homeless.
5Hungry and thirsty,
they nearly died.
6“LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he rescued them from their distress.
7He led them straight to safety,
to a city where they could live.

and fills the hungry with good things.
 
Have you ever felt hopeless in your attempt to change your diet. Trust that God will fill you with good things!!! So hunger and thirst after righteousness…. And good things 🙂 . You shall be filled
 
Read the whole of Psalms 107 and see just how faithful God is to his children. He will bring us through!

I am getting encouraged even while researching this! Here are some concrete scientific nutritional trues. This shows us how when we implement good things. Even when we fail ,falter , or just simply take a break we can negate and limit the effects of bad foods on our health. It is not about being perfect. It is about being strategic and smart! Have Fun!!!! So everyday wake up and don’t worry about your health, food, or weight. Think Positive and eat good things. Focus on those things. Everything else will fall into place.

BRING THE LIGHT OF GOOD FOOD INTO YOUR LIFE

 

Spiritually. Your spirit wants to be apart of something. It wants to worship. Because it was created to worship God. But God also gives us free will. So we can choose the darkness or we can choose the light. The darkness might feel good at the moment. But in the long term it ends in destruction. It is the wide road. The light is the narrow road. and boy these days it seems that few can find it. But we will do it. We will choose the right way in our food choices. By educating ourselves on good foods to eat. And using the power of good to prevent us from eating the wrong foods. Foods like sugary drinks, fatty foods, and hi glycemic foods. 
 
Spiritual tip: The more you pray, fast, attend church, fellowship with Christians, and use your faith the less you will be in trouble with your flesh.. and fall to temptation, tricks , and attacks of Satan. Some may say that I am taking this too far. Ha! But if you know how damaging diseases like Diabetes, High Cholesterol, Heart Disease, and Cancer are. These can only be attacks from Satan. So we must use the power of God to position ourselves and free ourselves from these evil things. Or just continue down the road that America is going into Obese and diseased oblivion. 
 
Scripture reference : Ephesians 6 . Put on the full armour of God. A good offense is just as good or better than a good defense. This is preparation for battle. Using a sword which is offensive to keep back the enemy. We can see Fiber, exercise, antioxidants, multivitamins, weight training, green foods, water and the light to be defensive and offensive weapons. Add these things into your diet and lifestyle and worry less about the bad stuff. We are making a choice. Eat the good stuff by choice and by faith. Our minds are saying we want the burger instead of the salad. Or enve we need that burger. When our body is saying no please give me the salad. I need it. If we just have faith and take the salad . We would be fine . The craving will go away. We will feel better..
 
Practical application: If you crave the need for friends. So you have a lot of bad friends around you that get you in trouble and are not a help. Then find good positive people to be your friends. Replacing the bad friends with the new. But you must have a change of heart and mind yourself. Know that you are worth more than to settle for bad friends. Realize that you like the bad friends around you for a reason. Fix that issue and find out why you do not have good friends. Make a decision to have good friends and do it. Better your life. Push the bad friends out and replace them with the new ones. Start with a change of mind and preference. 
 
Affirmation.: Say this out loud: I do not need bad foods. I only choose to eat them because I do not have faith to eat the good foods and be content. But I will no longer make these bad decisions. I will choose to eat the good food and do the better practices so that I would not be as tempted to eat the bad foods and sugary drinks. I will have faith and patience. I will change my eating habits and substitute good foods for bad foods. I will save my life. I will no longer destroy my body with bad foods. I will no longer destroy my heart and mind with bad foods. 
 
Prayer: Father God. You show us in Genesis that there is a close correlation between food and spiritual things. Our lives are greatly centered around food. While Adam and Eve chose to eat the wrong food. Causing sin and death to enter the world through their bad food choice. Your son is the answer and is even called the Living Bread and the Living water. He is the solution and the antidote to push out the darkness,sin, and death by bringing in the light, the substance, and the power of the the Son of God. So we know spiritually that there are applications and solutions in our food. How we see our food. Father we ask for your help in these areas. That we would have GREAT FAITH. That we would be in control of our health. Once and for all. From this day forth. Not by power nor by strength but by your spirit saith the LORD. Amen!
